Offering hope to the people of Gambia by sharing the love of Jesus through compassionate ministries.

Shared Blessings, Inc. was founded by Sulayman and Manuela Bah, two everyday people with a desire to make a difference in the lives of others for the cause of Christ, as He had done for them.

Sulayman (Sol) moved here from Gambia in 1989, dreaming of finer things in life, things a place like America could offer, but God had a different plan. Born and raised in a Muslim family, Sol came to the United States to complete his college education. He established friendships quickly in his new home, one of which was with a young lady, Manuela, his future wife. Through her witness and attending church, Sol came to understand God's message of love and purpose for the sacrifice of His Son on the cross. Sol accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in May 1994 and began a new life in Christ.

God began to build a vision in the hearts of Sol and Manuela through the burden they shared for his family to know the truth. Soon Sol and Manuela discovered that this burden reached far beyond Sol's family to the whole nation of Gambia with a population of over 1.5 million people.

The Bah's knew in their hearts that God was preparing them to carry out the mission for what would become Shared Blessings, a ministry to meet the needs of the people of Gambia both spiritually and physically. To accomplish this feat was more than they could comprehend and they also realized this to be something only the Lord could masterfully carry out.

In 2000, Sol traveled back to Gambia and located 1.3 acres available for purchase in Lamin. Within a few months God blessed them with the money to pay for the property and preparation began to build a facility with the ability to provide Christian-based education, teach the Gospel, and provide minor medical care, as well as food to the children in the Lamin village.

Out of their own pocket, the Bah's started the construction of a Christian School in the village of Lamin. A feeding program was also started in Bakau, Sol's home 12 miles north of Lamin, providing a meal for fifty to sixty children every day.

The school opened in September 2005 with 90 students and 12 people on staff. The children receive a hot meal every day, and have access to basic medical care. Shared Blessings provides the school supplies, uniforms and books for all the students.

The Bah's take short trips to Gambia every year to oversee the progress of this ministry. At the same time they conduct a "shade-tree" clinic, tending to the people's basic medical needs. Shared Blessings vision is to build more schools and establish feeding programs and free clinics throughout the villages of Gambia.

Shared Blessings, Inc. was established in June 2002 and is registered as a 501C3 ministry to further deveolop the scope of this ministry and provide opportunities for the body of Christ to become involved and make a difference in this desperately hurting area of the world.
